Elimination of the bumps on Zschopauer Straße
Traffic restrictions in the area from Georgistraße to Wilhelm-Busch-Straße
On 18 April 2017, roadworks will begin to remove the bumps on Zschopauer Straße in the section from Georgistraße to Wilhelm-Busch-Straße. The work will take place on the carriageway in the direction of the city and on the adjacent footpath and cycle path.
Traffic will be routed via the opposite carriageway so that only one lane will be available in the construction area towards the city and one towards the country. The construction work is scheduled to last until 31 May 2017.
The frost protection material used was identified as the cause of the bumps. The grain sizes present before installation are no longer present in the installed state. This material will be removed and completely replaced for the renovation of the carriageways. The asphalt layers will then be newly produced.
The bumps are defects in the carriageway that will be removed by the construction company as part of the warranty.
