Elephant EWA is out and about on Peace Day

Music school: Art project with triad "C-H-E" on 5 March, in the morning

For Chemnitz Peace Day on 5 March, the elephant EWA will be out and about in Chemnitz in the morning. EWA is an art project by Frank Maibier, Andreas Winkler and Chris Münster in cooperation with the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, where EWA "lives".

EWA will make brief appearances at various memorials and memorial sites in Chemnitz and play a special triad from its interior. This triad was created by the Chemnitz "ensemble01" and echoes the first three letters of the city of Chemnitz: C-H-E.

EWA will make stops at the stele for the Old Synagogue, the memorial to the victims of euthanasia at the school for the blind, the "grey buses", the stele for the victims of tyranny on Hohe Straße, the memorial at the central cemetery, the memorial to Justin Sonder on Brühl and other places of remembrance.

The "Elephant in the Room" project could already be experienced on 1 January and at the opening of the Capital of Culture year on 18 January, as well as at other events with children and young people at the municipal music school.

The next art event is planned for 23 March. EWA will then visit the former European Capital of Culture Weimar with artistic interventions.
