Next weekend, the elephant EWA will visit the former European Capital of Culture Weimar with artistic interventions as both ambassador and scout. EWA is an art project by Frank Maibier, Andreas Winkler and Chris Münster in cooperation with the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, where EWA "lives".

EWA will bring sounds from its interior to Thuringia. It will send acoustic messages that have been recorded in advance by various performers, including the Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Streichhölzern.
EWA will then pause and enter into a dialogue at special places of remembrance and commemoration in the city of Goethe and Schiller.

The "Elephant in the Room" project could already be experienced on 1 January and at the opening of the Capital of Culture year on 18 January, as well as on Chemnitz Peace Day on 5 March with the "C-H-E" triad art project. Most recently, EWA took part in the Day of Instruments with musical settings of texts by Rainer Maria Rilke on the grounds of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School.

Further EWA projects in Europe are in preparation.
