Educational programme for pupils on the exhibition "From Chemnitz. A piano"
In October, November and December, the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz are offering a programme to accompany the exhibition "From Chemnitz. A Piano" will be accompanied by a programme for pupils from Year 8 upwards. This includes a tour of the piano in the art collections on Theaterplatz. Pupils will learn more about the history behind the object and the fate of the Margulies family. Together, they will then create symbols of hope and tolerance. Afterwards, the students will go on a search for traces of Jewish life in Chemnitz city centre.

Workshop on the topic of home
On Wednesday, 13 December at 9 am and 10.30 am, AGIUA e.V. Migrationssozial- und Jugendarbeit is offering a workshop on the topic of "What is home?" in two sessions. The workshop is an offer for school classes of all school types from grade 5 with approx. 10 to 15 pupils. If an entire class takes part, the workshop can be organised in two groups.
In an interactive workshop, the participants will explore the concept of "home". What do they associate with this term? They also find out what things people took with them when they had to leave their home country. Would they miss similar things?
