Education fair of the city of Chemnitz
Information on secondary schools on 11 November
Next Saturday, 11 November, from 10 am to 1 pm, the City of Chemnitz invites fourth-graders and their parents to the education fair in Hall 2 of the Chemnitz Exhibition Centre, Messeplatz 1. Admission is free.
The transition from primary to secondary school is considered to be decisive for a child's educational path. The city organises an annual education fair to make it easier to choose the right secondary school for the child and the right school profile.
This year, ten municipal secondary schools and seven municipal grammar schools are taking part, as well as the Waldorf School, the Protestant School Centre, the Montessori School and the DPFA Regebogen Schools as independent institutions. At the fair, teachers answer their future pupils' questions about the profile of their educational institution, lessons and special offers such as study groups. Contacts from the Saxon Education Agency will also be on hand to answer parents' questions.
Some pupils have to accept a longer journey to school when transferring to a secondary school. For this reason, employees from Chemnitzer Verkehrs AG will also be on hand to provide information on the most favourable public transport connections.
The Education and Sports Office, which is organising the fair, will also be presenting the additions to the school route guide. The school route guide and the school route maps can be found online at www.chemnitz.de/schulweg.
