On Saturday, 2 November, from 10 am to 1 pm, the City of Chemnitz invites third and fourth graders and their parents to the education fair at Messe Chemnitz, Messeplatz 1. Admission is free. There are also no parking fees at the exhibition centre.

The transition from primary to secondary school is considered to be decisive for a child's educational path. The city organises an annual education fair to make it easier to choose the right secondary school for the child and the right school profile.

This year, ten municipal secondary schools, seven municipal grammar schools, as well as the Waldorf School, the Protestant School Centre, the Montessori School, the DPFA Regebogen Schools, the gruuna School and the new Friedrich August III Secondary School are participating as independent institutions. There will also be a joint stand of the municipal vocational school centres. At the fair, teachers will answer questions from their future pupils about the profile of their educational institution, teaching and special offers such as study groups. The Chemnitz Education Authority and the State Office for Schools and Education also take part in the fair.

Some pupils have to travel further to school when they move to a secondary school. For this reason, employees from Chemnitzer Verkehrs AG will also be on site to provide information about the most favourable public transport connections.

The education authority will be on hand to answer questions about school transport and reimbursement options.
