Easter at the zoo and wildlife park

The zookeepers at the zoo have once again come up with some great ideas for Easter and the school holidays. A tip for those who want to get into the warmth: in the tropical house you can watch free-flying birds in the cosy temperatures, observe spider monkeys and pygmy hippos and consider whether sloths are really as lazy as is generally assumed (e.g. at the "sloth meeting" at 2 pm on weekends and public holidays).

During daily show feedings in the zoo, you can learn interesting facts about the inhabitants:

  • Meerkats: daily 11.30 am,
  • Camels: daily 12 noon,
  • marmosets: daily at 2 pm,
  • Coatis: daily at 2.45 pm,
  • Porcupines: daily 3 pm,
  • Giant salamanders: Sundays 11 am.

In addition, from Maundy Thursday, 13 April, until 23 April, there will be a short guided tour of certain animals or animal groups every day at 11 am:

  • Thursday, 13 April: parrots,
  • Friday, 14 April: sloth bears,
  • Saturday, 15 April: Camels,
  • Sunday, 16 April: Giant salamanders,
  • Monday, 17 April: South American enclosure (alpacas, nandus),
  • Tuesday, 18 April: snow goats, ibexes,
  • Wednesday, 19 April: flamingos,
  • Thursday 20 April: kangaroos,
  • Friday 21 April: parrots,
  • Saturday 22 April: sloth bears,
  • Sunday 23 April: giant salamanders.

On Good Friday, 14 April, young visitors can enjoy Easter treats at the ticket office in the zoo (while stocks last).

On Easter Sunday, 16 April, the wildlife enclosure opens at 10 am. This is when the traditional Easter egg hunt takes place again. Children will also receive a sweet surprise at the ticket office (while stocks last).
