DRK blood donation day at the zoo

Donors can look forward to free admission and new zoo residents

This Sunday, 22 July, the DRK Blood Donation Service East and Chemnitz Zoo are inviting people to donate blood at the zoo for the fifth time. The campaign will take place from 10 am to 5 pm in the zoo school. All donors will receive free admission for themselves and one accompanying child on this day. There will also be a snack voucher from the DRK. Children can look forward to a great supporting programme, e.g. an exciting treasure hunt through the zoo.

New inhabitants of the zoo can also be discovered: It's not just the peacocks that have had offspring, which can be observed in the pheasantry. The green-winged macaws and blue-fronted amazons have also hatched a young parrot. The latter can sometimes be seen in the outdoor enclosure, while the young green-winged macaw is not yet on show to visitors.

Holiday programme at the zoo

During the holidays, the wildlife park will once again be offering guided feeding sessions on weekdays at 11 am. This takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with the wolves and lynxes, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the wild boar and mouflons.
