Driving licence authority also opens
Extra appointments for driving licence exchange on 21 January, from 1 to 5 pm
On Friday, 21 January, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the driving licence authority of the City of Chemnitz will process applications for the exchange of paper driving licences for temporary card driving licences for those born between 1953 and 1958 in addition to the usual opening hours. However, this is only possible by prior appointment.
Appointments can be made specifically for this time slot from Monday 17 January by calling 0371 488 3366. This number is available Monday from 7.30 am to 3 pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30 am to 6 pm, Wednesday from 7.30 am to 10 am and Friday from 7.30 am to 12 pm.
A second way of making an appointment is to send an e-mail to fuehrerscheinumtausch(at)stadt-chemnitz.de from the weekend. In addition to the request, this should include the surname, first name, maiden name, date of birth, driving licence number and - if the driving licence was not obtained in Chemnitz/Karl-Marx-Stadt - the authority that issued it at the time.
