Driving licence authority also opens
Appointments possible from 3 May
On Friday, 20 May, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., in addition to the usual opening hours, the driving licence authority of the City of Chemnitz will be offering appointments for applications to exchange paper driving licences for card driving licences for those born between 1953 and 1964. It is necessary to make an appointment in advance.
Appointments specifically for this period can be made from Tuesday, 3 May by calling 0371 488 3366. The number is available from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.
It is also possible to send an e-mail to fuehrerscheinumtausch(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. In addition to the request, the surname, first name, maiden name, date of birth, driving licence number and - if the driving licence was not obtained in Chemnitz/Karl-Marx-Stadt - the authority that issued it at the time should be stated. The appointment in the above-mentioned period will then be sent by e-mail.
