14 November, 7 pm, Concert Hall of the Municipal Music School

On Thursday, 14 November 2019 at 7 pm, the Dresden jazz and swing band "Götz Bergmann & his Gentlemen" will perform in the concert hall of the Municipal Music School. The musicians celebrate the 100th birthday of Nat King Cole and George Shearing with well-known hits such as "Carnegie Horizons", "Lullaby of Birdland", "That's What", etc. Admission is 15 euros, concessions 10 euros.

"Götz Bergmann & his Gentlemen" - for over 15 years, this name has stood for authentic swing, excellent dance music, discreet dinner accompaniment and charming entertainment.

Four musician friends, belonging to completely different formations and yet always making music together: Götz Bergmann, Ralf Beutler, Hans-Richard Ludewig and Tino Scholz quickly discovered that they have a common soft spot for a very specific type of music - they love the uniquely swinging recordings of the Nat King Cole Trio and the special sound of the George Shearing Quintet. The repertoire now also included German-language swing songs and their own arrangements. The swing ensemble quickly became a household name beyond the borders of their home town of Dresden. Just one year later, they went on tour in Germany with Anna Maria Kaufmann and members of the Gewandhaus Orchestra.

As a former member of a renowned Dresden salon orchestra and with his penchant for good dance music, Götz Bergmann was able to realise this preference with the Gentlemen. Evergreens by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Co. were selected for the repertoire. Together with great colleagues, "Götz Bergmann & his Gentlemen" became a sought-after dance orchestra with a special touch and have been at home in many German ballrooms for several years.

Please note: The concert of the Dresden jazz and swing band "Götz Bergmann & his Gentlemen" originally planned for 14 November together with the youth symphony orchestra of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School will take place on Thursday, 19 March 2020 at 7 pm.
