Dresden composers' class plays family concert

Municipal Music School: Concert on 12 November, 11 a.m., Concert Hall, Gerichtsstraße 1

On Sunday, 12 November at 11 a.m., interested parties are invited to a world premiere concert by the Dresden Composers' Class in the concert hall of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School, Gerichtsstraße 1. The "Klangwerk - Neue Musik" series will feature new chamber music for wind trio and string trio, composed by children and young people. The young ensemble Streich-Hölzer from the Chemnitz Music School under the direction of Andreas Winkler will perform the overture of the concert.

Admission costs 10 euros, concessions 5 euros.

In the family concert of the Dresden Composers' Class, the sound collective Opus Eins presents a total of 17 world premières under the title "Mixed Double Trio".The sound collective Opus Eins will present a total of 17 premières written by children and young people, including "Stonehenge" (Julius Balsukat), "Der Wecker" (Fanny Weber), "Der Teufelsgeiger" (Manuel Timme) and "Sonnenuntergang" (Lilly Bauer). Three wind instruments (clarinet, saxophone, trombone) and three strings (violin, viola, cello) perform in different constellations.

The 8 to 19-year-olds composed their pieces under the guidance of Silke Fraikin, Johannes Korndörfer, Annette Schlünz and Bernd Schumann and rehearsed them together with the musicians. Conductor Milko Kersten will lead through the programme and introduce the young composers in short interviews.
