Dr Christoph Dittrich elected new artistic director of Chemnitz Theatre
Dr Christoph Dittrich will be the new Artistic Director of Chemnitz Theatre from the 2013/14 season. The Chemnitz City Council elected the Managing Director of the Neue Elbland Philharmonie to this position with a large majority.
"I am delighted with the City Council's strong vote in favour of the future artistic director," said Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig. "I hope that Dr Dittrich finds many partners in the theatre with whom he can shape the next few years together."
Dr Christoph Dittrich succeeds Dr Bernhard Helmich, who intends to leave Chemnitz Theatre prematurely at his own request at the end of the 2013/14 season.
