DM Road Cycling: Road repairs along the race track
In preparation for the road cycling championships, which will be held in Chemnitz from 23 to 25 June, road repairs are now underway. During an inspection in April, sources of danger for cyclists were identified. The relevant road damage is to be repaired by 16 June.
Minor repairs need to be carried out, particularly in the start and finish area at Hartmannplatz and in Nordstraße between Müllerstraße and Schönherrstraße. Sections of the route along Augustusburger Straße and Schloßstraße will also be repaired. The road repairs will be carried out by the municipal building yard.
On Augustusburger Straße, the supply structures with drinking water, gas, electricity and sewer connections will be renewed in 2018. On Schloßstraße, the carriageway in the area of Arndtstraße and Georgstraße will be repaired this year. From 2018, a new daycare centre will be built here and the road between Theunertstrasse and Arndtsstrasse will be redesigned.
