Discussion forum on the future of the Brühl

Next Tuesday, 24 September at 6 pm, Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Brühl Manager Dr Urs Luczak will be hosting an open discussion forum on the future of Brühl at the City of Chemnitz's Brühl Office. They are looking forward to a lively and open discussion with residents, business owners and interested guests.
Since the establishment of Brühl Management and the opening of the Brühl Office last year, the work of the partners and project organisers on Brühl has picked up speed in the development of this urban quarter. Interest in the future design of the boulevard and its neighbouring squares has risen sharply.
This can be seen in the sales and refurbishment activities of the buildings on Brühl as well as in the interested parties, project sponsors and local players who are contributing to the design of the neighbourhood with different approaches. The Brühl is of great public interest and a place of longing for a wide variety of ideas from different groups.
Questions about coexistence should be clarified
However, the rapid development has also led to different views on the future revitalisation of the neighbourhood. The closure of the Atomino club and the cultural summer activities in particular have fuelled public debate. The debate centres on the compatibility of youth culture and residential areas, urban revitalisation and the right to quiet living conditions. The questions remain as to which form of inner-city neighbourhood is appropriate for the city of Chemnitz and the local stakeholders. How are the city's neighbourhoods developing with regard to the coexistence of different users and interests? How is a local social negotiation process possible in the neighbourhood? These and other questions will be discussed with interested parties, those affected and local residents. Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Brühl manager Dr Urs Luczak are inviting people to attend. Journalist Marion Tetzner will moderate and accompany the discussion.
