Discoveries for young and old in Chemnitz forests
Adult education centre: Forest experience offers from 20 September
From the end of September, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to take part in three different adventure offers in Chemnitz's forests. During guided forest walks, interested adults and families can go on a journey of discovery together and learn to appreciate the forest as a special and valuable habitat for plants, animals and people. The forest is full of surprises and is an interesting place of discovery for the whole family at any time of year.

Family forest day in the Zeisigwald
On Friday, 20 September, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the series starts with a family forest day in the Zeisigwald. Young and old will look for animal tracks, listen to the sounds of the forest, have fun, get creative and enjoy encounters. The walking distance will be approx. 3 km. Children aged 5 and over are invited with parents, grandparents or accompanying adults.

(Survival) strategies in the forest
On Wednesday, 25 September, from 4 to 6 p.m., an experienced forestry expert will present the
(survival) strategies of the animals in the Zeisigwald. This will include a closer look at plant growth, the development of a bark beetle breeding pattern and the behaviour of a roe deer when it is pursued or evaded by a lynx.

Off into the twilight - a forest experience for families with children aged 7 and over
On Monday, 7 October, from 5.30 to 7.45 pm, you are invited to take a walk in the forest at dusk (approx. 4 km) with a torch. At dusk, you can listen to the forest, explore it and strengthen your senses - such as touch, smell and sight. While some animals retire for the night, others are just waking up. What senses do the inhabitants of the forest have? How do they orientate themselves in the dark?
