Discover Chemnitz through the media
Adult education centre: Workshop series on 10 November, from 5.30 to 8 p.m., and on 13 and 20 November, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the TIETZ, room 4.07
From Wednesday, 10 November, the "Discover Chemnitz through media" workshop series will start at the adult education centre. Interested citizens can explore various aspects of Chemnitz city culture and capture them creatively in the media. The series also introduces and explains various media genres. The events take place in the TIETZ, room 4.07. Participation is free of charge.
As the workshops are linked in terms of content, it is advisable to attend the two consecutive dates. However, it is possible to join the series at any time.
In the introductory event on Wednesday, 10 November, 5.30 to 8 p.m., Dr Urs Luczak, an expert on urban culture, will discuss the question "What really makes Chemnitz the Capital of Culture?". He will point out facets that can be tracked down in the following workshops and take up suggestions from the participants. This event will also provide an overview of the media system in Germany and how it works.
The linked series of workshops will take place on Saturdays, 13 and 20 November, from 10 am to 4 pm. Firstly, the typical Chemnitz city culture will be examined and discussed. There will then be time for participants to do their own research. The second session will provide an overview of print media, such as the applicable regulations for work, text types and developments in the market. The students will then write their own print article on a topic from Chemnitz city culture.
