"Discover Chemnitz" on 17 and 18 May
Information from the City of Chemnitz Children and Youth Officer
On Friday, 17 May at 1 p.m., "Discover Chemnitz" episode two will start in the Kunstfabrik of the independent youth welfare organisation Solaris FZU e.V.
Primary school pupils from various primary schools in the city of Chemnitz will get to know the artist Stephanie Brittnacher and her hidden object book of Chemnitz at the Kunstfabrik. The artist will tell the pupils where and how she discovered Chemnitz, how drawings are created and how to become a graphic artist. The children can ask her questions, draw together with her and collect their own first artistic impressions.
In the afternoon, the children will travel to the Küchwald. The Children and Family Fund will cover the costs of the group's overnight stay at the school hostel. Of course, playing together, hide-and-seek and various ball games are not to be missed.
The "Discover Chemnitz" project was launched in summer 2018, when pupils from primary schools in Chemnitz visited the Lord Mayor and asked her "How do I become Lord Mayor?".
There will be a third instalment of "Discover Chemnitz" in 2020. The Children and Family Fund celebrates its tenth anniversary. Disadvantaged children are provided with education and an overnight stay at a school camp.
