Discover Chemnitz forests
Adult education centre event on 9 June and 16 June
On Wednesday, 9 June and the following Wednesday, 16 June, the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre invites you to go on walks in Chemnitz forests with forester Ullrich Göthel from the Grüna forest district. Participation is free of charge. Anyone interested can register for both forest walks at www.vhs-chemnitz.de or 0371 488 4343. Please have proof of a current negative corona test ready on the day of the event. Persons who have recovered or are fully vaccinated also require appropriate proof. Please ensure that you wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.
How are the forests around Chemnitz? On two forest walks, those interested will discover special locations, their history and their significance. You will learn the background to tree species, pests and the effects of climate change. What does forest conversion mean? How can we continue to use the forests? What protection do the forests and their inhabitants need? What is sustainable for the region?
