Disaster alert for Chemnitz cancelled
Flood level 3 for Chemnitz - Federal Minister of the Interior and Minister President visit crisis team
The flood situation in the city is gradually easing. The disaster alert was cancelled at 13:30. The Chemnitz is no longer in flood level 4, but with a level of 3.06 metres in flood level 3. The Würschnitz and Zwönitz are currently in flood warning level 2. The Kappelbach has fallen to 93 metres, the Pleißenbach is still in flood warning level 3 at 1.22 metres. Access to administrative buildings is currently difficult for citizens, the buildings are not barrier-free as the lifts in the town hall and the BVZ Moritzhof are out of order. The Tietz will remain closed today. The citizen service centre in Einsiedel is also closed today.

Filling points for sandbags are still active: citizens can currently obtain sandbags from the Erfenschlag (Dr.-Karl-Wolf-Straße 1) and Glösa (Bornaer Straße 205) volunteer fire brigades if required.
Numerous roads are still closed due to the flooding and continuous rain. They are now being gradually reopened. Annaberger Straße (between Bahnhofstraße and Treffurtstraße) and the bridge at the market hall are expected to be closed for a longer period of time.
