Digital Pact: Around 12.5 million euros for 78 schools in Chemnitz
Mayor Barbara Ludwig and Mayor Ralph Burghart today received a funding notification from the Minister of Education Christian Piwarz at the Johann-Wofgang-von-Goethe-Gymnasium in Chemnitz for around 12.5 million euros for the digital equipment of 78 schools.
The aim is to provide the school buildings with high-performance Internet access and to purchase digital work equipment for teachers and pupils. Funding will primarily be provided for digital infrastructure such as cabling, school servers and WLAN networks. However, the purchase of interactive whiteboards, displays or laptops, notebooks and tablets is also supported.
The application for the overall package of the digital pact in Chemnitz until 2024 comprises a total volume of 12,536,247.71 euros for Chemnitz schools. It was submitted to the funding provider on 17 June 2020.
