Digital educational tour on sustainable urban planning

Climate rally for Chemnitz is now available

The INTERLACE project's climate rally is now available to play and discover.

The climate rally offers an introduction to the topic of nature-based solutions (NbS) for sustainable urban planning. It can serve as a door opener for various topics, such as heat and heavy rainfall, climate change and health or green and blue infrastructures.

To complete the rally, participants must download the LoQuiz app on their smartphones and have access to the internet. The climate rally is primarily aimed at young people aged 11 to 14. They can complete the tour either alone, with friends, family or with their school class. Participation is free of charge.

Which measures can reduce the heat on the station forecourt and which can provide more shade on Düsseldorfer Platz and make Chemnitz more resilient? You can find out this and much more in the Climate Rally for Chemnitz. It comprises six stations where participants can learn more about the consequences of climate change and possible adaptation measures - through quizzes, explanations and small tasks.

The aim of the rally is to recognise and understand good examples, problem situations and possible options for action for sustainable urban planning. It is particularly important to emphasise that sustainable urban planning is interdisciplinary, combines scientific and political elements and can therefore be used in various school subjects in addition to an individual game with friends or family. During the rally, the players take on the role of an urban planner.

Further information and step-by-step instructions on how to start the rally can be found here.
