Digital appointment allocation at the City of Chemnitz Citizens' Office is being expanded
In addition to the registration office, online appointment booking is now also possible for the vehicle registration office and the driving licence office at www.chemnitz.de around the clock, seven days a week. After selecting the required service, the appropriate appointment can be booked quickly and easily in the City of Chemnitz appointment portal. (Also via QR code)
When booking an appointment, citizens are informed about the appointment and the required documents. You will receive an e-mail with the access code that must be presented at the appointment. The confirmation email also offers the option of cancelling the appointment online if it cannot be kept.
In order to be able to continue to guarantee the processing of citizens' requests even in times of the pandemic while observing the necessary hygiene measures, the operation of the entire Citizens' Office was switched to an appointment system last year, initially with telephone reservations via the public authority number 115. The past few months have shown that working with fixed appointments offers many advantages for citizens and employees. This also avoids unnecessary waiting times at the citizens' office.
With the Digital Agenda, the City of Chemnitz also wants to scrutinise its processes and create citizen- and business-friendly service offerings. The various analogue and digital access points to administrative services should be able to be used on an equal footing. It should be possible to visit the administration directly, use digital administration services or contact the authorities by telephone via the standardised 115 number.
