Determinations of the City of Chemnitz regarding daycare from Monday, 29 June 2020
From Monday, 29 June 2020, crèches, kindergartens and daycare centres will be able to return to regular operations. The following Corona protective measures must be strictly adhered to:
- Daily health confirmation by parents (current version - see attachment)
- Wearing a face mask (except for children in care and staff)
- Distance rules in drop-off and pick-up situations#
- Compliance with hygiene measures
- Documentation of the contact persons
Based on these requirements, the City of Chemnitz makes the following stipulations for the care of children in day-care centres:
- The children are cared for during the regular opening hours of the facilities.
- Parents can indicate the required care time by means of a change notification and pay the corresponding parental contribution from the month of July.
- The day care centre decides on the composition of the groups. In order to facilitate the return to regular care and to avoid an abrupt transition, the current group structure can be retained for a transitional period.
- It is possible to mix the children in early and late care. To ensure the traceability of infection chains, the children present must be documented.
- Open and partially open childcare concepts are permitted again and can be implemented.
- Familiarisation, parent/development meetings, parents' evenings, specialist advice and events at the end of the daycare year can be held on the facility premises in compliance with the general hygiene regulations and with sufficient distancing. The use of public transport with groups of children is not permitted.
- The facilities organise the drop-off and pick-up situation in the facilities in compliance with the Corona protection measures. Parents must wear a face mask when dropping off and picking up children. Educational staff and the children in their care are exempt from this requirement.
- Parents are permitted to enter the cloakrooms while maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres. Parents are not permitted to enter the group rooms and washrooms, except during the familiarisation phase. Under these conditions, parents should allow extra time when dropping off and picking up their children.
- Parents must confirm in writing every day before the start of childcare that their child does not have any known symptoms of a SARS-CoV-2 infection, in particular cough, fever or sore throat. The "Health Confirmation" form should be used for this purpose. If this is not submitted, the child will not be admitted to childcare on that day. The childcare relationship remains unaffected.
- The educational staff can reject a child with symptoms of illness. If symptoms occur during the course of the day, the daycare centre can arrange for the child to be collected immediately.
- If symptoms indicating SARS-CoV-2 occur in children on more than two consecutive days, access to the daycare centre is only permitted after proof of a medical clearance certificate or two days after the last occurrence of symptoms.
- Each individual child daycare centre and child daycare facility must present and comply with a hygiene concept based on the framework hygiene plan that is geared towards the COVID-19 situation.
The restricted regular operation with the specifications already made by the City of Chemnitz on 13 May 2020 continues to apply to the primary sector of primary and special schools, after-school care centres and secondary schools until the summer holidays.
