NUMIC invites you to design the model route with Infopost
In the coming days and weeks, Chemnitz residents will be invited to explore and rate the NUMICO cycle and pedestrian path. 1,000 randomly selected Chemnitz residents will receive a mailing from the city and Chemnitz University of Technology. Using a "treasure map", the three potential areas previously selected by the NUMIC community can be discovered and visions for sustainable urban development and a new mobility awareness can be marked. Specifically, this involves the shared footpath and cycle path as well as the green spaces at Knappteich, the slope on Gablenzer Straße down to Gablenzbach and a section of Hans-Ziegler-Straße. In addition to wishes for the future redesign, a personal assessment of the current situation is also requested and can be entered in a short questionnaire.
Anyone who does not receive any post but would still like to take part in the campaign can do so online. The three potential areas and the TU Chemnitz survey are available at numic.city.
The proposals submitted will be checked for feasibility. Promising ideas will be put to an online vote on numic.city from 30 April to 12 May and then implemented. 10,000 euros per place has been earmarked for the realisation of the ideas. The NUMIC team is aiming to realise the ideas for at least one year. An overview of all ideas can be viewed on the above-mentioned website.
NUMIC - New urban mobility awareness in Chemnitz
The NUMIC joint project is backed by an interdisciplinary team from research and administration. The City of Chemnitz, TU Chemnitz, TU Dresden, Fraunhofer IAO and Innosabi GmbH are all involved. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
