Deserving firefighters are honoured

Honours event on 3 November, 6 p.m., stadium on Gellertstraße

On Wednesday, 3 November at 6 p.m., the city will honour deserving members of the volunteer fire brigades. The festive event, to which the honourees and their families are invited, will take place in the stadium on Gellertstraße.

Media representatives are also welcome.

It is a good tradition at Chemnitz City Hall to honour the meritorious work of members of the volunteer fire brigades in Chemnitz every year in November. Mayor Ralph Burghart honoured 29 members of the volunteer fire brigades for their many years of dedicated service in an honorary capacity. Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will also be in attendance.

As last year's ceremony had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's ceremony will also be attended by those celebrating anniversaries in 2020.
The evening will be musically framed by contributions from the Chemnitz Music School.
