Democracy projects to be funded again
Applications can be submitted until 6 March
In 2023, the programme will once again support initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who are committed to a democratic, tolerant and cosmopolitan Chemnitz. The City of Chemnitz, the Free State of Saxony and the federal government are once again providing funding for this through the federal "Live Democracy!" programme. Applications for funding can be submitted until 6 March 2023.
This year, 80,000 euros are available from municipal budget funds (subject to confirmation of the budget), 160,000 euros in federal funds from the "Live Democracy!" funding programme and 50,000 euros from the Free State of Saxony.
Initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who wish to participate in the implementation of the local strategy can apply for grants of up to 20,000 euros each for the realisation of the projects. They can submit project proposals for the realisation of measures that are aligned with the valid target pyramid. This can be found at www.chemnitz.de/demokratiefoerderung.

In 2022, more than 30 measures were supported that promoted democracy and a cosmopolitan Chemnitz.
