From Thursday to Saturday, 13 to 15 March, a delegation led by Zurich Mayor Corine Mauch and City Councillor Filippo Leutenegger, Head of Zurich's Department of Education and Sport, will be in Chemnitz to discuss the school landscape in both cities, among other things.
The delegation includes Michael Anders, Director of the Zurich Education Authority, Rebekka Fässler, Co-Director of the Department of Culture, and Dr Anna Schindler, Director of Urban Development.
On Thursday, 13 March at 11 a.m., Mayor Ralph Burghart will welcome the guests at the Technical City Hall and introduce them to the school landscape of the city of Chemnitz. In the afternoon, they will visit the Vocational School Centre for Technology I (Industrial School) in the Park of the Victims of Fascism.
On Friday, 14 March, part of the delegation will visit the cooperation school at Brauhausstraße 16 in the morning and another part of the delegation will visit the Bernsdorfer Bad at Bernsdorfer Straße 213.
1.30 p.m.* City President Corine Mauch will sign the City of Chemnitz Capital of Culture Book in the Green Salon at City Hall, Markt 1.
Representatives of the media are invited to attend.
In the afternoon, Jirka Meyer, Head of the City of Chemnitz Education Department, will open the exchange of experiences between the delegation from Zurich and representatives of the City of Chemnitz Education and Sports Committee. Jirka Meyer and Norman Schröder, Head of the Swimming Pool Department at the City of Chemnitz Sports Office, will present the topics of school and sport.
On Saturday, 15 March, from 10 a.m., the delegation will visit the Hartmannfabrik, information and visitor centre of the European Capital of Culture 2025, in Fabrikstraße, to discuss the organisation and implementation of a major event with international appeal with representatives of Kulturhauptstadt Europas Chemnitz 2025 gGmbH.
