Delegation from the twin city of Taiyuan visits Chemnitz
Reception on 26 April - Photo opportunity: 4 p.m. Tram naming ceremony at the Adelsberg tram depot
On Friday 26 April, a delegation from the Chinese twin city of Taiyuan will visit Chemnitz. The delegation led by Mayor Zhang Xinwei (note: Zhang is the family name) will be welcomed by Mayor Ralph Burghart at the town hall. Future co-operation will then be discussed in working meetings.
4 pm Mayor Ralph Burghart and Mayor Zhang Xinwei christen a CVAG tram in the name of the twin city at the Adelsberg tram depot (open space, Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße 186). The "Taiyuan" tram will be the tenth* Chemnitz tram to be named after one of Chemnitz's twelve twin cities.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to the tram naming ceremony.
