Decision on the location of the stormwater overflow basin cancelled
At its meeting today, the City Council revoked resolution B-017/2015 "Decision on the location of the stormwater overflow basin RÜB RU 2" from 25 March 2015.
As the stormwater overflow basin in Brückenstraße is no longer required according to the 2018 general drainage plan, it will not be built.
The 2014 general drainage plan for Chemnitz originally considered the stormwater overflow basin in Brückenstraße to be necessary for combined sewer overflow. A revision of the general drainage plan in 2018 showed that the most effective way to achieve the required combined sewer overflow was on the site of the central sewage treatment plant in Heinersdorf.
