Decision in principle by the city council on the new construction of the central bus station and the long-distance bus terminals
At its meeting yesterday, the Chemnitz City Council passed the decision in principle for the new construction of the central bus station and the long-distance bus terminal.
The central bus station (ZOB) will be built at the station forecourt after 2025 and the long-distance bus terminal (FBT) will be built at the Dresdner Straße site by 2024.
With the long-distance bus terminal, a new and modern transport connection point will be completed by the Capital of Culture year 2025. Unlike the new ZOB, the FTB can be financed entirely from the Civil Engineering Department's budget.
Further coordination with the parties involved is necessary for the new ZOB. The funding application must also be adapted, which will require a longer project duration.
