"Death in Weimar" - a turbulent crime and romantic comedy

The well-known actor Dominique Horwitz will be a guest at the Chemnitz City Library in TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20, on 7 September 2016 at 7 p.m. He will be bringing his debut novel "Death in Weimar" with him.
The main character Roman Kaminski is a coachman who drives tourists around the city. After a series of deaths at the "Villa Gründgens" retirement home, the sensitive loner gets caught up in the abysses of Weimar society.
The reading is organised by the city library in cooperation with the bookshop UNIVERSITAS. Admission is 12 euros (concessions 8 euros). Tickets are available in advance from the bookshop UNIVERSITAS, Reichenhainer Straße 55, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. In the "Villa Gründgens", the Weimar retirement home for theatre artists, the rehearsals of the "Schiller Circle" are abruptly interrupted: One after the other of the elderly theatre group dies under mysterious circumstances. Roman Kaminski, coachman and city guide in the city of Goethe, feels compelled to get to the bottom of the mysterious series of deaths. But the ambitious inspector Westphal seems to have Kaminski in the palm of his hand and, to make matters worse, he is also caught between two women.
The author:
Dominique Horwitz, born in Paris in 1957, is an actor, director and singer. In addition to numerous film roles ("Stalingrad", "Der große Bellheim"), he has performed at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg, the Berliner Ensemble, the Deutsches Theater in Berlin and the Schauspielhaus Zurich, among others. He met his wife while filming in Weimar, and since then Weimar and Thuringia have not only been his home, but also his backdrop. In 2012, he staged "Freischütz" at the opera in Erfurt, and was most recently seen as Schiller's "Wallenstein" at the National Theatre in Weimar.
