"Daycare centre and artist:in" project enters the next round
City promotes creative educational offers in daycare centres - applications are open until 15 November
The "Kita & Künstler:in" project is entering its sixth round. The Kulturraum Stadt Chemnitz is once again inviting regional artists and daycare centres to collaborate creatively. Teams with an artistic educational project can apply until 15 November 2021. The submitted project ideas will be assessed by a jury and the winners will receive funding prizes of up to 2,000 euros.
The aim of the competition is to give children access to artistic education and co-creation. The focus is not on imparting knowledge, but on giving children the opportunity to become creative themselves. The call for proposals is aimed at artists from all fields who, in cooperation with daycare centres, work together with children between the ages of three and six to implement an offer, for example through workshops, courses or project days.
This year, the jury is once again focussing on particularly innovative forms of implementation of creative-artistic projects with girls and boys, for example hybrid or digital.
The pilot project was developed by the Cultural Education Network Centre in the Vogtland-Zwickau cultural region and has been successfully implemented there since 2013. The project is funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism and the City of Chemnitz.
