Day of the Homeless: "Making the invisible visible"

Information events on 11 September, from 12 to 5 p.m., on the market and at various contact points

On Monday, 11 September, from 12:00 to 17:00, an information event in Chemnitz city centre will draw attention to the situation of homeless people in Chemnitz. The City of Chemnitz Social Welfare Office, independent welfare organisations and other stakeholders in the field of emergency housing assistance are inviting all interested citizens to come and talk to the employees of the organisations involved. The "Küfa" (kitchen for all) will also be serving food on the market square. At the same time, several contact points in the city will open where interested parties can find out about the counselling and support services on offer.

The nationwide day of action under the motto "Making the invisible visible" will also highlight the wide-ranging forms and causes of homelessness in Chemnitz. The aim is to sensitise people to the life situations of those affected, which often remain hidden.
