Damage to the fountain at the Rosenhof fountain
The fountain at the Rosenhof fountain had to be switched off yesterday.
During an inspection this week, contamination of the fountain water was detected in the Rosenhof fountain due to the wilful introduction of highly foaming chemical liquids. It was possible to neutralise the fountain water so that the fountain was flowing again on the same day.
The routine follow-up check on Thursday morning revealed the same contamination, so vandalism is assumed. The attempt to restore neutralised fountain water was unsuccessful. The entire fountain system therefore had to be switched off.
The fountain system is being maintained. The costs cannot be specified at present. The fountain will not be put back into operation this year.
