Damage to drinking water pipe: only one lane of Leipziger Straße near Glauchauer Straße passable on Friday
From 8.30 a.m. on Friday morning, only one lane of Leipziger Straße will be passable for one day: On Leipziger Straße at the level of Glauchauer Straße, eins energie in sachsen GmbH und Co KG has reported a fault in the drinking water pipe (defective water valve). This pipe is located in the lane of Leipziger Straße leading into the city centre at the height of the safety barrier for the building on Glauchauer Straße that is in danger of collapsing.
Immediate repairs are essential to ensure the drinking water supply to the area. The work will begin tomorrow, Friday 14 June, from 8.30 a.m. after the morning rush hour and is expected to be completed by around 10 a.m. on Saturday 15 June.
During this period, only one lane will be available on Leipziger Straße.
Traffic will be controlled by a mobile traffic light system.
eins energie sachsen GmbH & Co KG has commissioned Rohrleitungsbau Altchemnitz GmbH to repair the damage.
Traffic jams are to be expected on the entire Leipziger Straße during the repair work. Drivers with local knowledge in particular are asked to drive well clear of the area.
