DA CAPO - Music for seniors

Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 1 October, 3 p.m.

On Thursday, 1 October at 3 pm, senior citizens are once again invited to a DA CAPO music café - music for senior citizens in the main hall of Kraftwerk e.V..
The guests this time will be Sabine and Siegfried Petri. The entrance fee is 6 euros, including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance. Due to the limited number of seats, visitors are requested to make a reservation on 0371/3839030.

Sabine Petri, music teacher in recorder at the Municipal Music School and church music director Siegfried Petri, cantor at St Peter's Castle Church in Chemnitz, will delight those present with music. The title "What began in Vienna..." reminds us that both came to Chemnitz from Austria.

Sabine Petri was also a cantor at St Peter's Castle Parish for a time. She leads the recorder group and numerous events organised by the young congregation. Children and young people are close to her heart. She can also be seen playing the organ at community events. Her versatility and commitment, especially to young people, are remarkable. Her recorder ensemble is very well known at the municipal music school.

KMD Siegfried Petri taught at the Upper Austrian State Music School and worked as a church musician in the Wallern parish in Upper Austria. He was also a district cantor and organ expert in the Sangerhausen church district, took part in various masterclasses and produced CD recordings, e.g. in 1995 on the two Hildebrandt organs in Sangerhausen and Pölsfeld. Since his appointment in 2003 as church music director in the church district of Chemnitz and cantor at St. Petri-Schloßkirchgemeinde Chemnitz, he has been a member of the extended board of the Chemnitz Music Society for many years and has been intensively involved with the history of music in Chemnitz.

In an exciting and informative chat between Nancy Gibson and Sabine and KMD Siegfried Petri, visitors will learn many interesting facts.
