"DA CAPO - Music for seniors"
Music café at Kraftwerk e. V. with Mathis Stendike and Jan Heinke
On 12 May 2016 at 3 pm, the Chemnitz Municipal Music School invites you to the next edition of the music café entitled "DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" in the large hall of the Kraftwerk e. V. at Kaßbergstraße 36. Visitors to the music café can expect extraordinary music from Mathis Stendike and Jan Heinke, both musicians from the band TUYA KLANGWERK. Admission is 5.00 euros including coffee and cake.
Mathis Stendike plays horn, percussion and is an electronics player. Jan Heinke plays steel cello. The artists play a wide range of musical styles from classical to experimental. They refer to prehistoric styles of music, which they then give a contemporary sound. The sound artists are inspired by other art forms to improvise individually and together, always in dialogue with each other and with their instruments. The result is musical soundscapes of great intensity. With the music project "Klangwege nach Chemnitz", they try to give asylum seekers new hope.
There is barrier-free access for wheelchair users at the signposted side entrance.
