DA CAPO - Music for seniors
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 1 July, 3 p.m.
On Thursday, 1 July, senior citizens are once again invited to a DA CAPO music café - music for senior citizens in the main hall of Kraftwerk e.V.. The guests are Ollipekka Määttä, teacher at the Municipal Music School, and his music students Tamira Reiter, Sarah and David Mauersberger and Max Henning. The entrance fee is six euros, including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance. Due to the limited number of seats, visitors are requested to make a reservation on 0371 3839030.
Ollipekka Määttä was born in Kuusamo, Finland and is one of the most talented Finnish guitarists of the younger generation. He received his first guitar lessons at the age of ten from Reino Vanhatalo at the Kuusamo Music School. Just one year later, he gave his first solo concert. In 2009 he was accepted to the Arts Academy in Turku and studied with Prof Timo Korhonen. In 2011, he began his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Weimar with Prof Ricardo Gallén. He then taught guitar at the Music School of South in Western Finland, the Allegro Musikschule GmbH Weimar and the Erfurt Music School before joining the Chemnitz Municipal Music School in 2019.
In the Music Café, Ollipekka Määttä talks to Nancy Gibson about his experiences and plays well-known melodies with his students.
