DA CAPO - Music for seniors
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 1 March 2018, 3 p.m.
"DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" invites you to another edition of the music café in the large hall of Kraftwerk e.V. at Kaßbergstraße 36 next Thursday, 1 March 2018 at 3 pm. General Director Dr Christoph Dittrich and Raimund Kunze, Orchestra Director of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra Chemnitz, are expected as guests. Admission is 6 euros including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access for wheelchair users is available at the signposted side entrance.
Christoph Dittrich was enthusiastic about music from an early age and was encouraged by a wide range of instrumental and singing lessons, and later also choral conducting lessons. He studied tuba and singing, education and musicology in Dresden from 1986 to 1991. Christoph Dittrich was particularly influenced by his chamber music lessons in Prof Ludwig Güttler's masterclass. From 1991 to 2002, he worked as a musician and dramaturgical assistant at the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen and at the same time worked on innovative cultural education projects, such as the development and moderation of concert series and school concerts organised by the orchestra. In 2002, he was appointed artistic director of the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen and very successfully shaped the ensemble until 2013. In 2008, he completed a doctorate in musicology on composers of the 1960s to 1980s. Dr Christoph Dittrich is Chairman of the Saxon State Association of the German Stage Association and a member of the Saxon Cultural Senate. He has been General Director of Städtisches Theater Chemnitz gGmbH since the 2013/2014 season.
Raimund Kunze studied instrumental piano at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and theatre and orchestra management at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. He then worked in the artistic operations office of the Hanover State Opera before joining the orchestra tour and PR departments of Konzertdirektion Schmid. He also worked as an artist manager for various artists at Künstlersekretariat Astrid Schoerke, Hanover. He has been Orchestra Director of the Robert Schumann Philharmonie Chemnitz since 1 May 2015.
Music café visitors will learn many interesting facts in an exciting and informative chat between the guests and Nancy Gibson. Well-known melodies will also be played.
