DA CAPO - Music for seniors
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 2 May, 3 p.m.
"DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" invites you to another edition of the music café on Thursday, 2 May 2019 at 3 pm in the large hall of Kraftwerk e.V. at Kaßbergstraße 36. Jakob Brenner, conductor at Chemnitz Municipal Theatre, will be the guest. Admission is six euros including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance.
Jakob Brenner, born in Regensburg, will provide the musical framework for the music café. He received his first violin lessons at the age of five. He studied at the Munich University of Music and Theatre and graduated with distinction in 2010. During this time, he was already the leader of various jazz ensembles and the a cappella group voxenstopp. He also conducted the Junge AGV Orchester from 2007 to 2012. He has expanded his musical range in numerous courses, including with Michael Procter (early music, Venice), Gunnar Eriksson (choral improvisation) and Konstantin Wecker (songwriting). From 2013 to 2016, he was musical director at the Altmark Theatre in Stendal, where he conducted operettas and musicals. He also accompanied recitals and composed numerous theatre scores and even entire musicals, such as the open-air spectacle "Ritter Roland", which won the cultural prize of the Hanseatic city of Stendal in 2014.
Since the 2016/2017 season, he has been engaged as a repetiteur with conducting duties at Chemnitz Opera. Jakob Brenner was appointed Kapellmeister at the Chemnitz Municipal Theatres at the start of the 2018/2019 season and conducted several musicals and ballet evenings. In the 2018/2019 season, he will take over the musical direction of the new productions of "Die Zauberflöte" (W. A. Mozart), "Die weiße Rose" (U. Zimmermann), "Der Teufel auf Erden" (F. v. Suppé) and various revivals such as "Hänsel und Gretel", "Die Fledermaus" and "My Fair Lady". He also conducts concerts with the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra.
