DA CAPO - Music for seniors
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 6 June, 3 p.m.
"DA CAPO - Music for Seniors" invites you to another edition of the music café on Thursday, 6 June 2019 at 3 pm in the large hall of Kraftwerk e.V. at Kaßbergstraße 36. Sophie Böhmchen, speech scientist, will be the guest. She will present "Cosima Wagner: Angel - High Lady - Mistress".
Admission is six euros including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance.
For her husband Richard Wagner, Cosmia was "la Dieudonnèe" - "the messenger of God". The music café looks back on Wagner's legacy. Cosima Wagner undoubtedly created something extraordinary with Bayreuth's renowned Festspielhaus. After the death of her husband, she held the reins of the festival management as a "high woman". Guided by the power of increasing recognition and female autonomy, she achieved international renown for Wagner's great works. But not without sacrifice. What was behind the success of the "Lady of the Hill"? Where did she find the strength to live up to her legacy? Was she angelic, selfless, just as Wagner described her?
Accompanied by Richard Wagner's music, Sophie Böhmchen, Germanist and speech scientist, provides answers to questions about the life of Cosima Wagner.
Nancy Gibson, Director of the Municipal Music School, will once again accompany this music café.
