DA CAPO - Music for senior citizens
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 6 October, 3 pm - with Sabrina Sadowska
On Thursday, 6 October at 3 pm, interested parties are once again invited to a DA CAPO music café - music for senior citizens in the main hall of Kraftwerk e.V.. The guest of honour will be Chemnitz ballet director Sabrina Sadowska. Host Nancy Gibson will chat with her in her usual manner and elicit interesting facts from her. The music café will be accompanied by the DA CAPO groups of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School under the direction of Christiane Korn and Andreas Grohmann.
The entrance fee is 7 euros, including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance. Due to the limited number of seats, visitors are requested to make a reservation by calling 0371 3839030.
Sabrina Sadowska grew up in Basel, Switzerland. She also trained as a dancer and ballet teacher there. This was followed by engagements as a dancer in Trier, Bremerhaven and Halle as well as six years of scholarships at the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen. From 1997, she worked as a ballet master and from 1999 as deputy ballet director at Ballett Vorpommern. In 2013/14, she moved to Chemnitz, initially as ballet company director and 1st ballet master. She has been Ballet Director at Chemnitz Theatre since 2018.
She founded and directs the festival "TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ" - an international platform for contemporary dance in Chemnitz. She created the ballets "Nutcracker, Swan Lake" (with Eno Peci), "Love me or Leave me" and "Stage Fright" for the Chemnitz Ballet, among others.
She is particularly keen to help dancers return to work after their dance careers. Sabrina Sadowska is the founder and chairwoman of the TANZ - Transition Centre Germany foundation, which supports dancers' health and rehabilitation. In 2016, she was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
