DA CAPO - Music for senior citizens
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 1 September, 3 pm - with Ellen Schaller
On Thursday, 1 September at 3 p.m., interested parties are once again invited to a DA CAPO music café - music for senior citizens in the main hall of Kraftwerk e.V.. The guest is cabaret artist, actress and Chemnitz lover Ellen Schaller. Host Nancy Gibson will chat with her in her usual manner and elicit interesting facts from her.
Admission is 7 euros, including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance. Due to the limited number of seats, visitors are requested to make a reservation by calling 0371 3839030.
Ellen Schaller grew up in a traditional East German cabaret family. Due to her family background, she wanted to become a "serious" actress. She therefore studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. She worked as an actress in Zwickau, Karl-Marx-Stadt, Bautzen and Dresden.
She has been performing as a cabaret artist at the Chemnitz Cabaret Theatre in the Markthalle Chemnitz since 1996. Ellen Schaller combines the cabaret stage with her acting craft: in her programmes, she slips into various roles that reflect her views on politics and society. She usually changes characters openly on stage by changing various accessories and costume pieces.
