DA CAPO - Music for senior citizens
Music café at Kraftwerk e.V. on 2 June, 3 pm - with Andreas Grohmann
On Thursday, 2 June at 3 pm, senior citizens are once again invited to a DA CAPO music café - music for senior citizens in the main hall of the Kraftwerk e.V.. The conductor and artistic director of the Saxon Symphony Orchestra Chemnitz, Andreas Grohmann, and some of his students will be guests this time.
In addition to live music, Nancy Gibson will chat with the guest about his successful and varied tasks.
The entrance fee is 6 euros, including coffee and cake. Barrier-free access is available at the signposted side entrance. Due to the limited number of seats, visitors are requested to make a reservation by calling 0371 3839030.
Andreas Grohmann studied violin at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden. In the 1980s, he gained experience as concertmaster and conductor at the Görlitz Music Theatre. In 1991, he successfully completed an additional degree in orchestral conducting at the Dresden University of Music. After moving to the Pirna Symphony Orchestra, he was appointed chief conductor in 1992 and music director in 1998. He has worked as a freelance conductor and musician since 2000.
In autumn 2002, he took over the artistic direction of the Saxon Symphony Orchestra Chemnitz, and in 2006 he took over the direction of the Haydn Orchestra Dresden. The conductor's repertoire is very varied. Andreas Grohmann is not only a conductor, he also teaches, e.g. at the Chemnitz Municipal Music School.
