For the 8th Saxon State Garden Show, which opens next weekend, cyclists will be guided to Frankenberg on the well-known cycle routes with special signs. Almost 170 new signs have been installed for this purpose. Prior to this, the routes were analysed and the necessary preparatory work, such as pole extensions, relocations etc., was coordinated and determined. At the same time, it was also possible to achieve improvements to the routing in two areas, including the opening of a one-way street for cycle traffic in the opposite direction. This all took place as part of a joint project between the city and municipal administrations of Chemnitz, Frankenberg, Niederwiesa and Lichtenau. Passing sights, marvellous views and fresh air, even the journey is an experience for sports and nature enthusiasts.

From Chemnitz, the 18-kilometre tour first takes you along the Chemnitz-Zschopautalradweg route. It starts at Falkeplatz and leads through the districts of Schloßchemnitz, Hilbersdorf and Ebersdorf to Lichtenwalde and the Zschopautalradweg cycle path. This takes you to the roundabout near Frankenberg and from there directly to the main entrance of the State Garden Show. Additional signposting also leads from Chemnitz main railway station to the State Garden Show.

Cyclists travelling from Mittweida take the Zschopau Valley cycle path to Sachsenburg, cross the Zschopau there and are then guided to the main entrance by additional signs. From Mittweida, the route is approx. 10 km long. The detailed route can be found in the appendix.
