Cycle route signposts on the "Saxon City Route" in Chemnitz now fully signposted

The Chemnitzer Gewölbegänge e. V. association has renewed the signposting of the Saxon City Route on behalf of the city with the "Chemnitzer Stadtfahrrad" project and completed the signposting of this long-distance cycle route in the Chemnitz city area as a whole.

A total of 120 signs have been installed over the past two years. Of these, 32 are arrow signs indicating the destination and distance. The symbols of the respective route are also recognisable as inserts. The remaining signs are so-called intermediate signposts and offer - without detailed information - basic orientation for cyclists. Some of these signs already existed and were renewed in accordance with current guidelines, while the rest were completely new.

The signposting corresponds to the aims of the draft Chemnitz cycle traffic concept and represents a service for Chemnitz citizens and, in particular, for visitors to the city who are unfamiliar with the area. In addition, it also fulfils the requirements of the federal and state cycle route signposting guidelines.

The Chemnitzer Gewölbegänge e.V. association takes on various tasks on behalf of the city to improve the situation for cycling in Chemnitz. For example, the association is in charge of the Chemnitz city bike project. You can find more information at www.chemnitzer-stadtfahrrad.de and www.chemnitzer-gewoelbegaenge.de.
