Cut your own Christmas trees with the forester

Christmas tree sale on 6 December, from 9 am to 12 noon, at Ebersdorfer Wald

On Saturday, 6 December, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, you will once again have the opportunity to choose, cut and buy your own Christmas tree in the municipal forest of the city of Chemnitz. Since the last Christmas tree sale in December 2019, the small conifers have grown back and reached an appropriate size. They are around 1 to 2.50 metres tall blue spruce and Nordmann fir trees, which can now be cut down by interested parties. The forestry workers are happy to help if required.

The trees are grown without the use of pesticides or fertilisers. Each tree costs 20 euros, payable by EC card or cash. If you wish, you can take your tree home wrapped in a net.

Individual handsaws can be borrowed. Bringing your own handsaw saves waiting time. The use of your own chainsaws is not permitted.

Access by car is from the Tännichtleite to the edge of the forest, through the open barrier on the path next to the power lines to the Christmas tree culture. Access is signposted from Stiftsweg and Slevogtstraße.

The ticket office is located in front of the railway subway. This is also the only place where you can obtain the receipt required to leave the site with a Christmas tree.
Exit is only possible through the railway subway and the street "An der Bahnstrecke". Turning is not permitted due to the narrow paths. However, it is also possible to buy Christmas trees on foot.

A site plan is available at www.chemnitz.de/weihnachtsbaumverkauf.
