Current topics in German foreign policy
Adult education centre: Lecture on 26 November, 7 p.m., TIETZ, event hall
On Tuesday, 26 November, from 7 p.m., interested parties are invited to a lecture and discussion on current topics and fields of action in German foreign policy in the TIETZ event room on the 3rd floor. Manja Kliese, Head of Division at the Federal Foreign Office, will report on German foreign policy in practice. She will answer questions such as "How is foreign policy made and organised in practice?" and "How do diplomatic negotiations work?"

International power shifts, complex crises, wars and areas of conflict, the role of Europe and the West, growing authoritarianism, the consequences of climate change or ongoing debates about weakening the United Nations or the European Union - the list of topics relating to German foreign policy is long and varied. At the same time, Germany plays a central role in international politics and is called upon to act as a mediator.
On this evening, foreign policy and diplomacy will be brought to life with a practical perspective. Manja Kliese will be available to answer questions in a moderated discussion format.
She heads the Crisis Response Centre at the Federal Foreign Office and will therefore focus on the management of international crises.
