Current and planned major construction sites in Chemnitz
In the city of Chemnitz, major construction measures are necessary now and in the future in order to expand and maintain the infrastructure. Many of these are being implemented as coordinated measures by various stakeholders. This means that the infrastructure is being renewed and expanded on several levels at the same time, for example, the civil engineering department is renovating the road surface and pavements, CVAG is renewing tracks or expanding stops and Eins and ESC are laying new lines. In addition, there are construction projects by Deutsche Bahn (Chemnitzer Bahnbogen), the neighbouring districts and the State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LASuV).
The necessary construction measures entail temporary cuts: diversions, closures and restrictions for road users as well as residents and businesses. The numerous construction sites are being coordinated by the City of Chemnitz's civil engineering department.
Priority measures in the main road network in 2021:
